devastated...
pictures. not knowing if all your friends and family are ok. not knowing if things will ever be the same. i dont have words to frame those thoughts yet.
hurricane katrina.
general information is coming out of the areas hit, but the media can hardly tell the whole story. even in this media-age, technology has it's limits. personal information is filtering out slowly. friends and family that could get away, are sharing whatever pieces of news they have with the rest of us... cell towers are down, and landlines arent working, making communication difficult or not possible at all.
the devastation is incomprehensible. the lives that have been lost, the coastlines that have been changed forever, the towns destroyed, and new orleans (a major historic us city) may never be the same. it will probably take weeks to sort out the scope of the damage, let alone to get things moving towards recovery.
the media has chosen to focus on stories that range from real tragedy to people looting. people can not get out of the city. (new orleans) some have lost people they love, or the things they owned, and most people are not thinking straight. it's becoming a dangerous situation.
for the rest of the population left behind, the ones who couldnt or didnt get out (the poor, the sick, and those who had no other place to go) it's getting worse by the day. if you want to help, one of the best ways you can is to donate money.

No maybes - got a second?
dead air...
over-sleeping is not good. "time flies like the wind, but fruit flies like bananas." hmmm.
germs
i read a story about the germs bio-pic titled "what we do is secret" that's coming out soon. (filming is complete) it sounds like director rodger grossman went out of his way to make things right for the project. i'm really looking forward to it.
places to read:
filming completed on germs biopic
myspace germ movie info
what we do is secret (imdb)
is this thing on...
im having fun reading radiohead's blog from time to time. there's not much on there really, but it's abstract enough to look at a few times.

Generalissimo Francisco Franco, is still dead...
pat robertson has probably never kept quiet about any subject... i remember him doing a whole segment on his show (that someone made me watch) on why john lennon's song "imagine" (a song about peace) was in fact, preaching feminism, communism and devil worship. - maybe that was slightly crazy... but what about ordering an assassination!
wow, that's like "upperdeck looney" for a holyman, isnt it? (he's swinging for the fences) is there some kind of award that these guys get for being the "craziest preacher" on tv or something? is there a deadline?
have it your way...
fresh off the BTK serial killer trial, i saw this story about the new "BK killers". slipknot is threatening a trademark infringement lawsuit against burger king for it's recent commercial featuring a "rock metal" band that wears masks? (for their new chicken fries) chicken fries?
but my favorite quote from that story - "BK wanted to use Slipknot's "loud voice" to tap into the prized demographic, Weitzman writes, claiming that some fans have already confused the fake band with the real Slipknot." -- so either someone in the band should fire that guy, or someone out there should line up some dates for a "coq roq" world tour. (depressing)
does your cat blog?
i found this funny article writen by sarah boxer of the new york times. it tries to answer the question of why cats are more popular on the internet than dogs. (my cat agrees)
you can read it here at the sun-sentinel.
